Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield captured the sixth Heisman Trophy in program history Saturday at PlayStation Theatre in New York, NY.
And following suit with previous winners, No. 6 had no shortage of memorabilia to sign his way through after capturing the coveted award.
Mayfield was tasked with autographing 300 separate pieces of memorabilia after the ceremony ended, according to the Oklahoman’s Brooke Pryor.
And as we all should have known by now, it was just another opportunity for the Heisman winner to walk away triumphant.
Mayfield reportedly completed his signing session in 33 minutes — the fastest time ever for a Heisman Trophy Winner. The previous record of 43 minutes was set by former Florida quarterback Tim Tebow in 2007.
Mayfield joked after learning of the record that “he still has the edge” that has made him such a competitor on the playing field.
No kidding, Baker.
The Oklahoma quarterback will have the opportunity to lead his team to a national title when the Sooners take the field against Georgia in the Rose Bowl on New Year’s Day 2018 — part of the College Football Playoff. The winner will compete in the National Championship Game in Atlanta, Ga. on Jan 8, 2018.
