3 Auburn football players named FWAA second-team All-Americans

AUBURN, Ala. — The national honors continue to pour in for Auburn football’s top players from the 2017 regular season, as three Tigers made the FWAA’s All-American second team Monday.

Auburn junior running back Kerryon Johnson, senior offensive guard Braden Smith and senior kicker Daniel Carlson were named to the second team by the Football Writers Association of America.

All three Tigers were named to the Associated Press All-American teams earlier Monday, along with junior cornerback Carlton Davis. The FWAA and All-American teams are among the five ones who factor into college football’s consensus All-American team.

Auburn and Wisconsin were the only teams to have three players on the second team. Carlson is one of only three multi-year FWAA All-Americans on this year’s team.
