Auburn’s Braden Smith named AP first-team All-American, 3 Tigers make second team

AUBURN, Ala. — Auburn football has four players on the Associated Press’ annual All-American teams, with senior offensive guard Braden Smith leading the way.

Smith was named a first-team offensive guard alongside Notre Dame’s Quenton Nelson on Monday. Junior running back Kerryon Johnson, junior cornerback Carlton Davis and senior kicker Daniel Carlson were all named second-team selections.

Smith, Davis and Carlson have now been selected on two All-American teams, as they were picked on the Walter Camp ones last week. This is the first All-American honor for Johnson, who was named the SEC offensive player of the year last week and came in ninth in Heisman Trophy voting.
