ASU guards Tra Holder, Shannon Evans, Kodi Justice are key versus Syracuse

The Arizona State Sun Devils must get good guard play to get past Syracuse on Wednesday night.

Syracuse is known for its zone defense. To defeat the zone, Arizona State has to shoot the ball well and get good penetration. The Sun Devils have the recipe to do accomplish just that with guards Tra Holder, Shannon Evans and Kodi Justice.

Arizona State’s guards have been the team’s strength all season long. The three guards have accounted for 57 percent of the Sun Devils’ scoring this season. When all three wing players perform well the team is tough to beat. The college basketball world witnessed that when Arizona State jumped out to a 12-0 start this year.

Syracuse will try to stymied Arizona State’s trio of guards with its famed zone defense. The winner of Wednesday’s matchup will take on TCU on Friday in the Midwest Region.
