Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen ruled out for game against Auburn

Early in the week, there was a chance Austin Allen could play Saturday’s game against Auburn. By the end of the week, it appeared things were unlikely for the Arkansas quarterback to return.

And as it turns out, Allen is out for the matchup with the Tigers.

Allen missed last week’s game against Alabama after injuring his shoulder against South Carolina the previous week. Cole Kelley started for the second straight week on Saturday against Auburn.

Given that Arkansas coach Bret Bielema thought there was a strong chance Allen could return this week, it seems there’d be an even better chance Allen will actually be back next week when the Razorbacks take on Ole Miss.

Tight end Jack Kraus and defensive back De’Andre Coley were also inactive for Saturday’s game, per SEC Country’s Trent Shadid.
