Arizona State-Washington: Game time, TV channel, how to watch online for Week 7 game (Oct. 14, 2017)

Arizona State and Washington meet in an important Pac-12 matchup on Saturday, October 14, 2017. Find game time, TV channel and how to watch online information below.

Arizona State (2-3, 1-1) struggled at the beginning of the season with losses to San Diego State and Texas Tech. However, the team has rebounded with a win over Oregon and a tightly contested road loss to Stanford. The Sun Devils seem to be coming together at the right time as they will face their most difficult test of the season versus Washington.

The No. 5 Huskies (6-0, 3-0) come to Tempe having won 11 of their last 12 Pac-12 conference games. The Huskies beat the Sun Devils 44-18 in Seattle last season; however, the Sun Devils have won 9 of the last 10 games against Washington.

While the game on the field is of paramount concern to both teams, the real headline here is that Washington coach Chris Petersen will be dealing with another late kickoff time and will play once again on ESPN. If you’re not caught up on the not-so-subtle war between Petersen and ESPN, this will explain everything you need to know.

Arizona State-Washington keys to the game:

Win the Turnover battle

Arizona State has only forced 5 turnovers so far this season, which is tied for last in the Pac-12. That simply won’t work against a team as talented as Washington.

The Huskies have only turned the ball over 6 times so far this season, ranked No. 3 in the conference. However, the Sun Devils should have a chance to get to Jake Browning. If Arizona State can force pressure on Browning, they could be able to stay in this game.

If Arizona State is able to get at least 10 points off of turnovers, the whole dynamic of the game changes for them. That should be the team’s only focus on defense.

Get an Early lead

Washington has been dominating Pac-12 opponents this season and has only allowed 24 points in 3 conference games so far this season. Moreover, the Huskies have the second best defense in the entire country.

Arizona State has to put the Huskies on their heels. If Washington gets a lead, they’re going to force feed RB Myles Gaskin, run out the clock and come away with an easy victory. However, if they’re forced to throw the ball early if they are behind, Arizona State could find a way to come out with a stunning upset.

Spread it Out

The Sun Devils have perhaps the best group of wide receivers in the Pac-12, led by N’Keal Harry. Harry is the most dynamic wide receiver in the Pac-12 and Washington will surely be focused on him.

However, the Sun Devils have tons of other playmakers and not much to lose as they are such big underdogs against Washington. The Sun Devils need to air it out, spread it out and do anything necessary to score touchdowns early.

Arizona State beat Oregon because of its ability to jump on the Ducks early. Despite Oregon’s late comeback, the Sun Devils prevailed. The strategy needs to be the same here.
