Arizona coach Sean Miller misses practice, remains away from Wildcats

Sean Miller did not attend Arizona’s practice on Monday, according to Bruce Pascoe of the Arizona Daily Star.

Miller, in his ninth season at Arizona, is embroiled in controversy due to an  ESPN report that alleges Miller  discussed a $100,000 payment for then-recruit Deandre Ayton.

Miller did not coach against Oregon last Saturday due to the report and it is not known if/when Miller will return to the sideline.

Lorenzo Romar, Arizona’s associate head coach, said that he does not know Miller’s current status with the school, per the Arizona Daily Star.

UA associate head coach Lorenzo Romar confirmed that Miller was “not with us” before practice began. Romar said he didn’t know if anything had changed with Miller’s status. The UA has not formally said if Miller’s status has changed.

The Wildcats (22-7, 12-4) are ranked No. 19 in the AP Top 25 and lead the Pac-12 conference by a half game over USC.

Arizona will host Stanford on Thursday (7 p.m. PT on FOX Sports 1) and California on Saturday.
