All-American LS Justin Mader announces commitment to Texas

Texas-Texas Longhorns-Justin Mader-commitment

The Texas Longhorns 2018 class added yet another piece on Thursday.

Just over a week after signing a 27-man haul that ranked No. 3 nationally, the Longhorns added another high-level talent with the latest coming in the form of Magnolia long snapper, Justin Mader, who announced his commitment as a preferred walk-on on Twitter.

An Under Armour All-American, Mader visited Texas in late January and after bypassing National Signing Day, he sided with the Longhorns over offers from Air Force, Army and Southern Arkansas. In doing so, Mader bolsters what’s become an impressive special teams haul for the Horns, as Texas also owns signatures from Ryan Bujvevski, the nation’s No. 2 punter, and Cameron Dicker, the nation’s No. 4 kicker, per the 247Sports Composite.

Mader now joins that mix ranked as the nation’s No. 2 long snapper.

A 3-star prospect, Mader is ranked as the nation’s No. 1,957 player and the No. 281 player in Texas.
