Alabama S Minkah Fitzpatrick, Georgia LB Roquan Smith among SEC’s first-team AP All-American honorees

The SEC is well-represented on the Associated Press’ All-America teams.

On Monday, the teams were released. Among the SEC’s first-team honorees include Auburn offensive lineman Braden Smith, Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith and Alabama safety Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Auburn running back Kerryon Johnson was among those featured on the second team.

Smith and Fitzpatrick have a chance to help lift their respective teams to a national title. Georgia plays Oklahoma, featuring first-team quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Baker Mayfield, in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. Alabama faces Clemson in the Sugar Bowl in the other national semifinal on the same day.
