Cameron Latu, a 4-star Jack linebacker from Olympus High School (Salt Lake City), wasn’t planning on signing early but he has changed his mind after taking an official visit to Alabama this past weekend.
Latu, the nation’s No. 7 weakside defensive end in the 2018 class, according to the 247Sports Composite, that his recruitment is 100 percent over.
“I’m not taking any more official visits,” Latu told SEC Country. “I know that’s the place I want to be.”
The 6-foot-5, 236-pound prospect was contemplating taking official visits to Southern California and Utah, but those visits will no longer happen. He’ll sign with the Crimson Tide on Dec. 20, which is the first day of the early signing period.
The Polynesian Bowl commit said Jeremy Pruitt leaving for Tennessee didn’t affect his recruitment at all.
“I really didn’t ask about that, and that wasn’t a question I had at all,” Latu said. “I love Coach Pruitt, but he’s got to do what’s best for him, and I’m happy for what he’s doing for himself.”
Latu won’t enroll at Alabama until the summer.
