2018 Women’s NCAA Tournament: Ohio State cruises past George Washington in first round

Ohio State easily moved into the second round of the 2018 Women’s NCAA Tournament on Saturday. The third-seeded Buckeyes blew out No. 14 George Washington, 87-45, at St. John Arena.

Ohio State will face 11th-seeded Central Michigan in the second round on Monday in Columbus. Central Michigan upset No. 6 LSU in the first round.

Ohio State improved to 28-6 on the season with the win over George Washington. Steph Mavunga led the Buckeyes with 22 points, and Ohio State held George Washington (19-14) to a 27.7 field goal percentage.

The Buckeyes are in the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive year, and they’re looking to make their second straight Sweet Sixteen.
