New Orleans St. Augustine running back Garland LaFrance announced he is no longer committed to Texas Tech on Monday.

LaFrance wrote in a Twitter message: “After talking with my family and coach Juluke … I have decided to decommit from Texas Tech. I want to thank coach Kingsbury and coach Juluke for this amazing opportunity. I have to do what’s best for me & my future and find the best place for me.”

LaFrance originally committed to Texas Tech on Aug. 5 in a tweet, but he has since deleted the post.

Texas Tech was one of the running back’s biggest offers. He did receive an offer from TCU, however, on Nov. 30.

LaFrance’s de-commitment leaves Texas Tech with 18 verbals, including 3-star running back Devin Brumfield. Texas Tech’s 2018 recruiting class ranks No. 42 overall by Rivals.com.
