The Cincinnati Reds have spent the last 57 days in last place in the National League Central Division. They occupied the basement all but two days in 2018.

The Reds dropped into the cellar on June 13 in 2017 and never escaped. It was a similar story in 2016 except the date was May 13. In 2015, they also finished last but at least contended for fourth until the final weeks.

The 2019 Reds, who stopped a three-game losing streak by beating the Philadelphia Philles 4-3 on Sunday, trailed the fourth-place Pittsburgh Pirates by one game through Sunday. It's too early to turn the page to 2020, but it's never too soon to look at the future, so here's a rundown of how the franchise's top minor-league prospects, as ranked by MLB.com before the season, are doing this year.

1. Taylor Trammell, outfielder: A first-round pick in 2016, he's hitting .235 with four home runs in 60 games with Double-A Chattanooga. He hit .277 last season with Single-A Daytona. MLB.com rated him the No. 16 prospect in baseball.

2. Hunter Greene, right-handed starting pitcher: The No. 2 overall selection in the 2017 draft underwent Tommy John surgery in April and won't pitch again this season.

3. Jonathan India, infielder: The fifth overall selection in the 2018 draft, India's hitting .252 with eight home runs in 57 games with Daytona. He hit .244 last season in 44 games in the Rookie League and with the Single-A Dayton Dragons.

4. Tony Santillan, right-handed starting pitcher: A second-round pick in 2015, he's 2-3 with a 3.75 ERA in 12 starts with Chattanooga. Last season, he was 4-3 with a 3.61 ERA in 11 starts for Double-A Pensacola.

5. Tyler Stephenson, catcher: A first-round pick in 2015, he's hitting .263 with three home runs in 38 games with Chattanooga. Last season, he hit .250 with Daytona.

6. Mike Siani, center fielder: A fourth-round pick in 2018, he's hitting .218 with four home runs in 53 games with Dayton.

7. Vladimir Gutierrez, right-handed starting pitcher: He made the jump to Triple-A Louisville this season, and he's 2-5 with a 7.35 ERA in 12 starts. Last season, he was 9-10 with a 4.35 ERA with Double-A Pensacola.

8. Jose Garcia, shortstop: He's hitting .257 with three home runs in 57 games with Daytona. He was 19 in 2017 when the Reds signed him to a minor-league contract.

9. Jose Siri, center field: He's hitting .276 with three home runs in 55 games with Chattanooga. Last season, he hit .239, splitting time between Daytona and Pensacola.

10. Lyon Richardson, right-handed starting pitcher: A second-round pick in 2018, he's 1-4 with a 4.56 ERA in 12 starts with Dayton.
