Who thought bringing in Dan Otero vs Votto with the bases loaded was a good idea. 🤦🏻♂️

Joey Votto against Dan Otero. And you expected???? Tito shoulda made the move 3 or 4 batters ago. You don't wait until it's Votta. Really stupid managing. He's great with player relationships. GREAT, I said. But managing a bullpen...he's very average. VERY.

After the game, the Indians skipper admitted he ended up with the wrong reliever on the mound to face Joey Votto with the bases loaded in the ninth inning.
After Cody Allen was removed from the game in the 9th, a miscommunication between Terry Francona and Carl Willis resulted in Dan Otero entering the game instead of Oliver Perez. pic.twitter.com/Jr2iSy7k5g

That would be a hilarious subplot if Otero had ended up getting Votto out, but he allowed a ringing three-run double that put the Reds on top.
Indians fans therefore are only left to wonder what if it had been Oliver Perez, who is not only left-handed but also counts himself among the many pitchers over the years who have spent at least part of their careers as Reds killers.
