Bengals sign third-round pick

The Cincinnati Bengals today signed third-round pick Nick Vigil, a linebacker from Utah State.

The 6-foot-2, 239-pound Vigil led the Mountain West Conference last season with 11.1 tackles per game and ranked sixth nationally. He was the only player in the country credited with at least nine tackles in every game.

“Nick has the skills, and the opportunity, to be a three-down linebacker for us,” Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis said . “He’s fast and he’s tough. He did a great job at Utah State in the middle of the defense, scraping, playing over the top and through blocks.”

Vigil is the third member of the 2016 Bengals draft class to sign. The team finalized contracts with sixth-round pick Cody Core, a wide receiver from Mississippi, on Saturday, and seventh-round pick Clayton Fejedelem, a safety from Illinois, on Monday.
