Bengals avoid another trip to London in 2018

The Cincinnati Bengals were candidates to return to London for a game in 2018, but that will not be happening after the NFL announced Thursday which six teams will be making the long trip.

The Seattle Seahawks will play the Oakland Raiders on Oct. 14 in the first of three London games. The Philadelphia Eagles will take on the Jacksonville Jaguars in a matchup of playoff teams Oct. 21 or 28. And the Tennessee Titans will face the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 21 or 28.

The Chargers were required to “host” a game in London due to the fact they are playing in temporary stadium, and the Bengals will play a road game against them in 2018.

In addition to the mandatory appearance by the Chargers, the NFL wanted to feature teams who had not yet played in London. The Titans, Eagles and Seahawks will be making their first appearances overseas.
