Dawson was charged with first-degree misdemeanors for domestic violence and assault, a second-degree misdemeanor for criminal damaging and a fourth-degree misdemeanor for failure to disclose personal information after an incident that occurred Sunday.
Prosecutors say Dawson swung a hatchet at the man, but missed and hit his truck instead, leaving a large dent on the hood. While being arrested, he refused to give police officers any personal information and instead “just shouted obscenities” at them.
He is currently being held in jail with a $50,000 bond. Toledo Municipal Court Judge Robert Christiansen removed Dawson’s option to post 10 percent. The case is currently ongoing.
