You are going to have to wait, if you’re craving the chicken from this Yellow Springs restaurant.
Calypso Grill and Smokehouse, 1535 Xenia Ave. in downtown Yellow Springs is closing for a week after Jan. 28.
A restaurant employee said the eatery that specializes in jerk chicken and other Caribbean dishes will reopen Feb. 8 following the “winter closing/hibernation.”
Brian Rainey opened the Calypso Grill last summer.
He also owns Sunrise Cafe.
That mainstay restaurant at 259 Xenia Ave. also will be closed Jan. 29 to Feb. 7, according to a Facebook post.
The Calypso employee said the restaurant will shut down temporarily for maintenance.
It is not uncommon for Yellow Springs restaurants to take time off in the winter.
The Winds Cafe, nearby at 215 Xenia Ave., closed for its annual two-week winter break after the new year.
That restaurant is now operating as normal and participated in Miami Valley Restaurant Association’s just-finished Winter Restaurant Week.
