We tried Graeter’s Ice Cream’s new mystery flavors, and they’re delicious

To kick off their 2018 campaign, Graeter’s Ice Cream started strong with the release of not one, but two Mystery Flavors.

These “fan favorites” were brought back by popular demand, and are sure to please chocolate lovers.

The first is the decadent Dark Chocolate Brownie ice cream made with bittersweet chocolate chips, rich chocolate ice cream and soft, gooey brownie chunks.

The second mystery flavor, S’mores, will trigger nostalgic feelings for a night around the campfire. It’s made with graham cracker-flavored ice cream, handcrafted marshmallows and signature chocolate chips.

After waiting for the ice cream to thaw, we dove in.

Here’s what everyone had to say:

"I'm absolutely in love with Graeter's Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip ice cream, so I rarely stray from my order. But the new Dark Chocolate Brownie was sinfully delicious. Chocolate lovers will enjoy the rich flavor and the texture of the ooey-gooey brownie. Indulge!" -- Michelle Fong, Dayton.com editor

“This is what heaven looks like.” -- Meredith Moss, Dayton Daily News reporter

“The S’mores is DIVINE!” -- Alex Perry, Dayton.com reporter

“Graeter's makes it really hard to choose a favorite between their new S'mores and Dark Chocolate Brownie flavors. Both were extremely true to their descriptions. If I had to choose, I would pick the S'mores because the ice cream tasted JUST like honey graham crackers and I loved the textural surprise of the soft marshmallows and crunchy chocolate pieces. Chocolate lovers will be in heaven with the Dark Chocolate Brownie ice cream though. The brownie bites tasted extra fudgey and really took the already amazing Graeter's chocolate ice cream to the next level.” -- Allegra Czerwinski, Digital Audience Specialist II, Dayton.com

“I was most intrigued by idea of Smores ice cream, but I have to admit: I was pretty skeptical about how successful a graham cracker-flavored ice cream base was going to work. Luckily, I didn't need to worry -- it was delicious. Much more delicious than I would have thought. And it tastes like the real thing.” -- Ashley Bethard, Dayton.com manager
