Why it rates: Pine Club boasts a national reputation as one of the best steak houses in the country. Why it rates: The Oakwood Club is known for steaks, prime rib and wide variety of menu options. Popular appetizers include the beef carpaccio: thinly sliced beef tenderloin, garnished with red onions capers, parmesan cheese complemented extra virgin olive oil and toasted focaccia bread. Favorite entrees include the New York strip, available in three different sizes, 13 oz regular cut, 10 oz and 80z (smaller sizes). Staff members are friendly and do the best they can to accommodate customer’s meal preferences.

Why it rates: It’s a familiar name across the country. Its USDA Prime-beef is offered both wet- and dry-aged and broiled at 1,600 degrees or iron-crusted. Entrées feature seafood, and 8 different steak options anywhere between an 8-32-oz. cut.
Why it rates: Meat lovers salivate, but Carvers is more than steak. They’ve won the Wine Spectator’s ‘Award of Excellence’ for the past 5 years. Customers also voted their steak the best in the Dayton area from 2011-2013. Fans enjoy the extensive wine list along with seafood, pasta, chicken, baby back ribs and of course, steak!

Why it rates: Jag’s was named the best steakhouse in Ohio by Business Insider in 2016 and it ranks as one of the best in the nation. The steakhouse recently underwent a rennovation that included new decor, new menu items and the addition of a new dry-aged beef program.

Why it rates: Chop House is famous for their deliciously affordable options. Lunch specials start at $8 or less! If you’re torn on sides, the giant sweet potatoes, topped with a special brown sugar cinnamon butter, is a crowd favorite.
Why it rates: Not only steak, but the broad selection beer wine and cocktails draw the crowd. Firebird steaks are hand cut daily and served with loaded baked potatoes or steak fries. The menu features items that come straight from a wood fired grill. Customers can also add a half pound lobster tail to any entree.

Why it rates: Come here for award-winning BBQ ribs and black angus steak. This menu features fresh seafood, shrimp, chicken entrees, salad creations, homemade soups, bistro sandwiches, all-American burgers, and comfort food.

Why it rates: The Tavernette Inn, established in 1939, is one of the area’s best kept restaurant secrets, boasting atmosphere and ambiance that goes on for days. The menu is a terrific companion to the throwback setting. The New York Strip ($23.95) is a great cut grilled to order and well worth it.
