China has become a hotbed of fatal escalator mishaps in recent years.
The most recent incident killed no one, but five escalator riders were injured and more than a dozen were thrown to the ground after they fell like dominoes on top of one another.
The incident is said to have happened at a shopping mall in Ningbo, Zhejiang Province late last week. Authorities are investigating the cause of the escalator malfunction.
