Revealing cabbie calendar may drive people to Uber, amuse others

Things aren't going well for New York City cab drivers. Since Uber rolled onto the scene drivers have lost an estimated 50 percent in revenue and many have decided to stop leasing the familiar yellow rides and work for the competition.

The remaining drivers have not lost their sense of humor, as evidenced by the 2016 NYC Taxi Drivers Calendar.

The annual comedic display raises money for University Settlement, a charity that helps immigrants learn English and other basic skills.

Some say the attempt at sexy will drive even more riders to Uber, but those people must not get the joke. The drivers know they aren't hunky New York City firefighters, whose calendar they are obviously mocking.

If you are on a budget, know that the cabbies are charging almost a whole dollar less to look at their traffic-stopping pictures.

In the 2016 calendar, cabbie David Graves tantalizes the foodie crowd by posing with a slice of pizza to show "his sensual side," writes The New York Post.

“They put me in a variety of poses and wanted me to pose with pizza,” said Graves, who has been driving a cab for 16 years. “I was fine with that. I like pizza — and I’m not so much of a diva yet that I can call the shots.”
