Hopkins said his $29,000 check, which he will receive when the Texans host the Indianapolis Colts in a wild-card game Saturday, will be used to pay for the funeral costs of Jazmine Barnes.

Hopkins said on Twitter that he will donate the check to help pay for funeral costs for Jazmine and that he would join in the effort to bring the girl's killer to justice, KHOU reported.

"On Saturday, I will be playing in your honor, Jazmine," Hopkins tweeted.

Jazmine died Dec. 30 when she was fatally shot while riding inside a vehicle with her mother and three sisters.

"What I can do, that's nothing, that won't bring back a person," Hopkins told ESPN on Thursday. "I'm not trying to make it out about me or anything like that. It's the least I could do."
