Preparations for the reconstruction of portions of McCreight Avenue in Springfield will began on Monday, depending on weather conditions.

That road will be under lane restriction and it will impact the portion of McCreight that is between North Limestone Street and Cedarview Drive, according to a news release from the City of Springfield.

The contractor that was hired for the reconstruction will start putting up barrels for the lane restriction on Monday. The reconstruction itself is expected to start soon once the lane restriction is completed, according to representatives of the city.

The general contractor for the project is Brumbaugh Construction of Arcanum, Ohio.

A detour will be posted by the city during and two-way traffic will be permitted under the lane restriction, according to the news release.

It is part of a $2.4 million total reconstruction of that portion of McCreight Avenue. The project is expected to be completed in September.

Reconstructive work will include new pavement, curb and sidewalk replacement, grading, drainage improvements, water service replacements and sanitary sewer lining.

Updates to the project will also be posted on the city’s website at springfieldohio.gov.
