Police: Middletown, Springfield AT&T store thefts may be linked

Middletown police believe the same people who stole $2,000 worth of phones from a Middletown store may also have also struck a Springfield location.

Police responded to the AT&T store at 2992 Towne Blvd. at 4:23 p.m. Friday on a report of a theft. The store manager told police he believes the same people robbed the Middletown and Springfield locations. The Springfield store was robbed on Thursday, according to the report.

In a surveillance video, Middletown police said a white male wearing black shorts and a shirt with the No. 99 on it was seen standing by the store’s front door for a few minutes. The man then picked up a basket containing two iPhones, valued at $2,000, according to the report.

The man ran out of the store and got into a Chrysler Aspen with slight front end damage, according to police. The license plate returned to a 2001 red Dodge.

The manager also showed police a photo of the suspects who robbed the Springfield store. They appear to be the same suspects, according to the police report.
