King Letsie III, the Constitutional Monarch of Lesotho, gave the commencement address during Wittenberg University's 168th commencement on Saturday.

Students decorated their graduation caps and listened as the king expressed his thanks for the connection Springfield, the Rotary Club and the schools in the area have built with his country.

Since 2003, about 400 Wittenberg students have traveled to Lesotho through 14 different service trips, and many more have participated in the Lesotho Nutrition Initiative, a student-led nonprofit that sends meals to children in Lesotho.
