7-year-old girl, teen hurt in shooting after Alabama Mardi Gras parade

A 7-year-old girl and 17-year-old boy were hurt late Saturday when shots were fired after a Mardi Gras parade in Mobile, Alabama, police said.

According to WALA, gunfire erupted about 9 p.m. near the intersection of Dearborn and Government streets, striking the girl's leg and grazing the teen's arm, police said. The girl, whose wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, was taken to a nearby hospital, Mobile Fire-Rescue said. Crews treated the teen at the scene.

Mobile police arrested another 17-year-old in connection with the shooting, WALA reported. He is facing multiple charges, including two counts of second-degree assault and one count of shooting into an unoccupied vehicle, WKRG reported.
