World's tallest water slide - 17 stories up - to open in Kansas City

The world's tallest water slide is being built in Kansas City and is due to be completed next spring.

Visitors at Schlitterbahn Park have to go nearly 140-feet in the air to ride the slide, or roughly 17 stories.

Riders are expected to drop at approximately 60-miles-per-hour on the way down the ride named The Verrückt, German for insane.

Riders will have to climb 264 steps to reach the top of the ride.

The 2nd largest water slide is in Brazil at 134-feet-tall.
