Deputies say a Kentucky man thwarted a home invasion when he opened fire on a group of armed intruders – and the dramatic moment was caught on camera.
According to WBKO, the incident occurred late Wednesday at the Country-Living Estates neighborhood in Warren County. Security footage shared by the Warren County Sheriff's Office appears to show a group of people kicking in the door to the mobile home before rushing inside.
But they didn't make it far before the occupant, 24-year-old Austin Orwig, fought back.
"As they approached his bedroom, he exchanged fire with them," Warren County Sheriff Brett Hightower told WBKO.
The intruders fled as Orwig fired several shots, Hightower said. They are still at large.
Orwig was hospitalized for a hand injury and later released, Hightower said.
If you have information about the shooting, call the Sheriff's Office at 270-842-1633.
