Viral video contest not yet viral

The roll out of the new health care law includes a $30,000 viral video contest.

Federal health officials hope the competition encourages young people to sign up for health insurance under the Affordable Care Act.

Last summer they asked for submissions of videos demonstrating the need for young people to have health care.

Organizers of the "Healthy Young America" video contest announced nine semifinalists Nov. 18.

The winning videos include a man getting hit by a Honda Civic and a woman eating al fresco with the grim reaper.

So far, the videos have yet to become Internet sensations.

Each has received just a few hundred clicks in their first few days posted on YouTube.

The group Young Invincibles, running the contest with the Department of Health and Human Services, says thousands of people have watched the videos on other sites.

A grand prize winner will be announced Nov. 29.
