video making rounds on social media shows a large crowd blocking a busy Atlanta metro street while cars do dangerous tricks.

In the video, drivers can be seen doing doughnuts in the middle of the street. Someone can even be seen setting off what appear to be fireworks.

It happened over the weekend near the Varsity restaurant off Spring Street and Ponce de Leon Avenue. Those who work and live in the area told WSB-TV′s Audrey Washington they are getting frustrated over the out-of-control crowds.

"I just saw a lot of people driving crazy, like they didn't have any sense," said Robert Haynes, a resident nearby who said he saw the commotion over the weekend. He told WSB-TV that drivers line up at the intersection at least once a month to show off their fast cars.

“They’re just everywhere," he said. “And acting real reckless.”

In an emailed statement, police said they are aware of reported gatherings at the intersection but they said every time they have responded, the crowds have dispersed.

Still, Haynes said he wants more officers at the intersection before the crowds even arrive.

“I think they really have to crack down and think about things that are going on,” he said.

Police said they did not get any reports of injuries from this weekend’s gathering.
