Survey: Millennials love Red Lobster, older crowd loves Cheesecake Factory

If you see a young crowd at Red Lobster next time you visit, it is because the restaurant is a favorite of a youthful demographic.

According to a new survey by Consumer Picks, people aged 18-24 picked Red Lobster as their favorite restaurant chain to visit followed closely by Cracker Barrel and First Watch. Häagen-Dazs was the favorite of people aged 25-44 followed by Ben & Jerry’s and Ninety Nine Restaurant and Pub, while people aged 45-64 favored The Cheesecake Factory, Romano’s Macaroni Grill and Olive Garden.

The oldest group, those 65-75, picked Rubio’s, Corner Bakery Café and Jet’s Pizza as their top spots.

As for gender, women favored The Cheesecake Factory over P.F. Chang’s China Bistro, Chick-fil-A, Carrabba’s Italian Grill and Red Lobster.

Men have a sweet tooth, as their top pick was Ben & Jerry’s followed by The Melting Pot, Bonefish Grill, Johnny Carino’s Italian and Häagen-Dazs.

The survey also found that high-income spenders favored Häagen-Dazs and The Cheesecake Factory, while lower-income spenders bought food at Ben & Jerry’s and The Melting Pot.
