Police officials told the Star that officers were called around 1:30 p.m. to an area near Bean Creek, where a group of people walking along the bank came across a suitcase. WISH-TV in Indianapolis reported the group was fishing at the creek when they stumbled upon the luggage.
One of the people opened the suitcase and discovered Terry’s remains. The cause and manner of his death have not been released.

Family members told investigators it was unlike Terry to vanish for a long period of time. He was diabetic and had left home without his insulin.
Terry's daughter, Amber Gill, wrote on Facebook in March that her father also had a brain injury. She wrote that her father had the "biggest heart" and would do anything for anyone in need.
Anyone with information about Terry’s death is asked to call Indianapolis Metro Police Department homicide detectives at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS (8477).
