PGA Tour player strips off clothes on golf course, jumps into pond to save a precious life

A professional golfer is making headlines for an sudden act of kindness performed on the golf course.

Greg Owen is 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 205 pounds and will do anything for a birdie … a baby bird, that is.

According to a post by Ziegler Golf School on Facebook, Owen was practicing at the TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida when a bird fell right out of the sky.

He was walking off the 16th tee, and baby blue jay tumbled out of a tree and tried to fly across a pond. The tiny creature couldn’t quite make it, and splashed into the water, where he flailed desperately.

Determined to save the bird, Owen stripped down to his boxer briefs and carefully waded into the pond, carefully scooped up the adventurous baby bird and brought him back to safety.

Working with Greg Owen during his practice round at TPC Sawgrass today for the Players Championship. Walking off the 16 th tee with Greg and Brandt Snedeker when a baby blue jay falls out of a tree, tries to fly across a pond only to make it half way across. What does the 6'5 210 lb big man do? Jump in and save the bird of course!! #bigheart #animallover
