Rob and Christina Wohle lost their 18-year-old son, Cole, in 2016, after he experienced a medical emergency while performing in a rodeo in Vermont. He was nicknamed "Cowboy Cole" by friends for his love of the rodeo. Cole planned to follow in his father's footsteps and become a firefighter.
The Wohles decorate their son's grave for the holidays. For Halloween this year, to honor their son's "amazing sense of humor," they decorated Cole's grave with a skeleton wearing a cowboy hat emerging from the ground, WMTW reported.
The cemetery commission removed the display three times without notifying the Wohles, WMTW reported. The Wohles told WMTW that their intention was to make the visits to their son's grave less sad, but they will not put up the Halloween display again.
