Parents of boy found in family's septic tank admit leaving kids alone

The parents of a 5-year-old boy who was reported missing and was found dead in a septic tank have been denied bond.

WDBJ reports that Paul Thomas and Ashley White will remain in jail after being charged with two felony counts of abuse neglect of children. A hearing last week resulted in the denial of bond.

Initially the couple claimed that Noah Thomas and his 6-month-old sibling had accompanied them to drop off their father at work. The next day the couple admitted that they left the two children home alone.

The couple’s infant was removed from the home March 23.

On March 26, Noah was found dead in a septic tank after a five-day search.

Surveillance video confirmed that the couple did not have the children with them the morning Noah went missing.

If convicted, Ashley White faces a maximum of 15 years in prison and Paul Thomas faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.
