Nearly 600 pounds of liquid meth seized during Texas traffic stop for broken brake light

A routine traffic stop in Texas for a broken brake light resulted in the seizure of nearly 600 pounds of liquid methamphetamine on Thursday, KTVT reported.

Detectives with the Denton Police Department's Special Investigative Unit pulled over a black GMC Envoy for the minor violation and noticed numerous suspicious plastic containers visible throughout the SUV, the station reported.

According to KDFW, officers considered driver Adan Murga-Alvarez's behavior during the stop exceptionally nervous and a subsequent search of the vehicle yielded 12 plastic containers filled with a substance field tests determined to be liquid meth.

Murga-Alvarez, 29, has been charged with manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance and is being held on a $500,000 bond, KTVT reported.
