NASA trying to bring fictional tractor beam into reality


NASA is trying to bring science fiction technology into reality.

The space agency is teaming up with Arx Pax to build micro-satellite capture devices, or in layman's terms, a tractor beam, Fox News is reporting.

The plan will use the company's Magnetic Field Architecture (MFA) technology to control and pair satellites from a distance.

The company has not said how the technology will work, saying it is a "work in progress."

Arx Pax is also working on another piece of movie-inspired technology. It is developing a hoverboard, similar to one made famous in the "Back to the Future" movie franchise.
