"This was a new one," McIntosh County Animal Services Director Marianna Hagan told WBAY. "New things happen all the time. I've never had a dog pulling a crate full of puppies down the road before."
The dogs were found covered in fleas, ticks and feces by a father and son who brought them to animal services.
The dogs are recovering after being washed, fed and treated by animal shelter volunteers. The pack is headed to the Fancy Cats and Dogs Rescue in Virginia this weekend.
Friends of McIntosh County Animal Services is offering a $250 reward for information leading to the person who left the dogs in their condition.
