1. She played to delegates' nostalgia, reminding them it's been almost eight years since she first spoke at the Democratic National Convention in 2008. "It's hard to believe that it has been eight years since I came to this convention to tell you why I thought my husband should be president," she said
2. She called on voters to think of their children's futures."Make no mistake about it," Obama said. "This November, when we go to the polls, that's what we're deciding: Who will have the power to shape our children for the next four or eight years of their lives."
3. Obama, who as first lady has pushed for more support for children and families, said she trusts Clinton "to lead this country because I have seen her lifelong devotion to children."
4. She took digs at Donald Trump without saying his name. "The issues … cannot be boiled down to 140 characters," Obama said, hinting at Trump's propensity for voicing his opinions on Twitter. She added, "When you have the nuclear codes at your fingertips … you can't have a thin skin. You can't have a tendency to lash out."
5. She got teary-eyed discussing her time in the White House with her daughters and husband. "I wake up every morning in a house that was built by slaves, and I watched my daughters … playing with their dogs on the White House lawn," she said. "And because of Hillary Clinton, my daughters, and all our sons and daughters, now take for granted that a woman can be president of the United States."
