Suzanne Chase said her husband Doug, a Vietnam vet, was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2011, CBS Boston reported.  She had tried in 2012 to get his treatment moved from Boston to the VA hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts, to be closer to home.

They waited for four months, but didn't hear anything.  Douglas died in August 2012, according to CBS Boston.

But the story doesn't end there: fast forward two years.  Suzanne said just two weeks ago, she finally received a letter from the VA responding to her request, ABC News reported.

The letter included a line saying the VA wanted a quick response from the couple, according to WCVB.

WCVB added that the VA actually denied Doug veteran's funeral benefits because he was never treated at a veteran's hospital.
