Suspect Deonte Branch of Monroe is accused of attacking two women within 24 hours at Felker Park, and police told WSB he also likely assaulted a third woman. They all were jogging or walking in the park during morning or afternoon hours.

Branch was spotted roaming around the park Monday by a detective with the Walton County District Attorney’s Office, which led to his arrest, the news station reported.

"(The DA's office) put her in running clothes, and she was walking the area, and she actually identified the suspect walking behind another female," Monroe police Chief R.V. Watts told WSB.

Good Samaritans helped stop one of the alleged assaults Sunday around 6 p.m. after hearing a woman screaming for help, police said.

“The victim was allegedly forced to the ground and physically assaulted,” police said in a news release. “The attacker was scared away by witnesses coming to the victim's aid after hearing her screams for help.”
