Law enforcement searching for missing North Carolina inmate

Law enforcement officers are looking for a North Carolina inmate who was reported missing from his work release assignment in Caldwell County on Monday afternoon, according to the state's Department of Public Safety.

Kevin Adams, 47, was last seen around 1:15 p.m. on Cranberry Road in Lenoir.

He has brown hair, blue eyes and is about 6 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing about 202 pounds. Adams has tattoos on his chest, arms and right wrist.

Adams was in the Caldwell Correctional Center serving a nearly four-year sentence for obtaining property under false pretense.

He’s been in prison since August 2019 and was scheduled to be released in March 2021.
