"The idea is to let elementary students know the goal is to finish high school, and hopefully, when they look at the seniors it will inspire them to be like one of them and finish high school," superintendent Renee Williams told the Progress Index.
Former South Elementary staff members were invited to come back to their school and see their past students.

Some of the seniors received gifts of artwork from their younger counterparts as memories of their times in the school came flooding back, the Progress Index reported.

Caleb George told the newspaper, "It's weird because I remember looking up at high-schoolers and never imagining myself getting there one day."
George also said he thought the school was bigger when he was there. It seems smaller now that he's grown, he told the Progress Index.
