About two miles from the hospital, the baby was ready. Mack Greer parked at the Food City lot and called 911 while Lois Greer moved to the backseat with her granddaughter.
“I’m out of the car, and (a dispatcher) heard the baby crying,” Mack Greer told the Times-News. “She said, ‘Is that the baby?’ I said, ‘Yeah, that’s the baby.’ ”
“He was here in just a minute or two,” Lois Greer said. “I jumped in the backseat and delivered the baby.”
EMS soon arrived, whisking new mother and child into an ambulance and to a local hospital, where Isaiah was pronounced healthy.
