Eggs recalled due to potential salmonella contamination

The Food and Drug Administration has announced a recall of eggs due to possible salmonella contamination.

Gravel Ridge Farms is recalling its Cage Free Large Eggs in dozen and 2 ½ dozen packs.

The eggs have the UPC code of 7-06970-38444-4 and use by dates of July 25 through Oct. 3.

The eggs were distributed between June 25 and Sept. 6 in Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee to both stores and restaurants.

If you have the eggs, you’re being told to return them to the store or throw them away.

The FDA advises, "If any consumers have Gravel Ridge Farms eggs in their refrigerator, they should be discarded, regardless of the date stamped on the package."
