The man’s Chihuahua was spotted running along the southbound lanes of Interstate 79 near Zelienople, Pennsylvania after the crash on Easter Sunday.

The dog, who will be going home to Pittsburgh's Carrick neighborhood, was found on a farm about a mile from the crash site.

Earlier this month, another Chihuahua survived for two days in a crashed car after an accident killed the dog's owner.

KHQ reported that the dog was in a kennel inside a van driven by 85-year-old Marie-Claire Steinkamp when she drove through a stop sign and hit a truck.

Steinkamp died, but the dog survived and was found when investigators examined the van two days after the wreck.

That dog was taken to animal rescue, awaiting adoption.
