Bruce Springsteen writes the boss of all excuse notes

Xabi Glovsky had the boss of all tardy notes when he was recently late for school.

The 9-year-old was out late Tuesday night, attending a performance by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band at the Los Angeles Sports Arena with his father.

Xabi held a sign that read "Bruce, I will be late to school tomorrow. Please sign my note."

After playing 35 songs during the 3-hour show, Springsteen spotted the sign and motioned for security to bring Xabi and his father backstage, according to Backstreets, a Springsteen fan site.

"We waited outside Bruce's dressing room, then he came to the door and invited us in. Although there were many musicians and celebrities at the concert, we were the first people to see Bruce after the show," Scott Glovsky told Backstreets. "He said, 'There's the big guy!' to my son. It was just the three of us. He then said, 'I understand that you need a note, I think I can help you out.'

Springsteen then asked Xabi his teacher's name and started pulling out a piece of paper and a pen.

"Xabi has been out very late rocking and rolling," Springsteen wrote. "Please excuse him if he is tardy."

Xabi slept in the next day, but at least he has a note.
