The son of rock ‘n’ roll legend Bruce Springsteen is starting a new job as a firefighter in New Jersey.

Sam Springsteen, 25, the youngest of Bruce Springsteen and Patti Sciafla's three children, was hired by the Jersey City Fire Deepartment, according to a social media post Thursday by Sciafla.

“Congratulations. You followed your dreams,” Sciafla said on Instagram.

The younger Springsteen took the civil service exam to become a firefighter in March, one of hundreds who took the test, according to the Jersey Journal.

The online site NJ.com reported Sam Springsteen is a 2014 graduate of Monmouth County Fire Academy and was a volunteer with the Colts Neck Fire Department in Monmouth County.
