Boy saved sister's life before he was struck, killed by car, mom says

La'Darious Wylie, 11, died saving his 7-year-old sister from being hit by a car, the siblings' mother told WSOC-TV's news partners at The Herald.

“He knew to look out for her,” Elizaberth McCrorey said.

La’Darious reportedly was struck and killed by a car while he and his sister were walking to the school bus stop on Oct. 27.

La'Darious lunged and pushed his sister, Sha'Vonta, out of the way, their mother told The Herald.

The car sped away, and Chester police later arrested and charged Michelle Johnson, 57, in the hit-and-run death.

La’Darious died at the hospital.

“I don’t hate her; I just wish she had stopped,” McCrorey said.

The funeral is at 3 p.m. Thursday at Browns Chapel AME Zion Church in Chester.

GoFundMe page has also been set up to help the family.
